Clint's story is one which should bring hope to those who are given no hope: through a time of great pain and suffering, endurance and perseverance, always trusting in His loving Father who promises to work all things together for good, Clint has been through fire and come forth as gold. May this story encourage you that you, too, can have the victory.

“On my Sunday night national radio program Open House, we have a segment called ‘...now the good news’. It’s a kick-back against all the bad news that always seems to dominate our media.

Clint Beattie’s story was one of the segment’s first guests.

What a journey Clint has endured – and with such hope and optimism!

He was diagnosed at the age of 12 with a very serious brain tumour and soon after his parents were told he probably had six months to live.

And yet 14 operations and 17 years later Clint is still with us – married, working and larger than life.

How come?

As only Clint could say – ‘”God’s medicine” completely revolutionised my walk with cancer’.

Clint embraced the Christian faith three years after his brain tumour was discovered. From then on he had no fear of the future, for he was absolutely convinced God was in control.

Clint Beattie powerfully believes God healed him. He speaks of feeling – ‘this enormous massive force zapping my head’.

He also speaks of a work of healing done in his heart, to draw him closer to God.

I’m so glad Clint has committed himself to the very substantial undertaking of writing about his story in ‘Into the Light’. It’s one thing to endure life’s tough stuff – it’s entirely another to stand back from the experience and lay it out for the benefit of others. It is truly a labour of love.

Because Clint experienced his ‘wilderness years’ during his teenager-hood, he offers a powerful voice to young people enduring a range of life’s challenges and difficulties. He says quite simply – ‘It’s a work of service to the world so it can see Jesus.’

And his message to young people in particular – ‘God hasn’t forgotten you – he loves you’.

I’m so happy to commend Clint’s important book – ‘Into the Light’. “
